I also have a quick question for people who have been here longer - how long on average does it take for an admin to see a ban appeal? I was banned for spam, but wasn't spamming, and I've made an appeal post but it seems like nobody's checking them recently. Has anyone else had an appeal accepted?

Hello! That’s a nice, succinct introduction. Also, welcome to the forums : ) If only the circumstances for being here were better. It sucks being stuck in limbo. Best of luck with the ban appeal, my fingers are crossed o7

Speaking of being bans, to answer your question, I guess I got pretty lucky. I was banned for spam a month ago and my appeal was accepted within a couple business days. Mind you, I also knew exactly why I was banned so that probably helped my case. Also, I never got a notification or a message that I was unbanned either. I just tried logging in periodically and eventually it worked ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

About your ban, do you think one of your messages might have had two words with only a period in between like “something.something”? I’ve seen some of those spam bots use pretty random words in the “something.something” form so maybe you had a typo that matched by coincidence and that’s what triggered it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ That’s how I was banned. Except I included the “something.something” on purpose mixed in with the rest of my message lol. Dumb idea, never doing it again.

It is totally possible that I mistyped something. I assume it was some automated thing, but I have no idea what specifically I said that could have triggered it. I've been checking every now and then so I'll just keep doing that and hopefully the ban gets lifted. It'd be nice to know what caused it though, just so I can avoid it in future. I'm not trying to break any rules or anything and I report to admins if I see something dodgy. I was having fun and had made a couple friends - it sucks to be banned so suddenly.

It seems like there are a lot of people who are banned for spam with no clear reason. And yuup it sucks for sure. Hopefully you can get back online sooner than later.
