What men want or wish for is not a question with any simple or absolute answer. Men, just as women, are different and all have their own perspectives and own selves to make such questions more difficult to answer.
I'm a man and I've known men that would tell a woman anything just to get into their pants....but just as cold as this sounds, I've also known women that use men just as coldly and without passion or concern.
Being a man that has been married only one time...and married to only a single woman for over thirty years, I believe I have some insight into what it takes to make either a man or woman happy or what a man or woman want. I've also raised two lovely and intelligent daughters whom are both independent and well rounded...which I also believe reflects upon my perspectives and views in a positive way.
Having said these things to give you some very brief basis for evaluating my next statements...I would like to tell you what I believe a man or woman 'want' when a person looks beyond the superficial outter layers.....
First, we all want 'trust'. That is not simply to be trusted, but to also be able to trust our partner. To be able to understand and know that the person you are with will be there for you when you need them and that you will always be there for them....trust is the first building block of hope.
Secondly, 'hope' makes us all seek to achieve greater goals where we can go and do things which by ourselves we might not have done. Hope grows from the roots of our trust.
Third, 'love'....a passion and caring where we all may be the person we want to be, with no hidden feelings or deceit....where we can be ourselves with someone and not be ashamed or feel as though we are not 'good' or somehow lesser than anyone else by the things we do, say or desire. When we love, we give willingly without regrets or any fears of being hurt...and reciprically with accept the same of our partner. Mutual consideration and respect permits love to blossom...and our own sense of person evaporates as we loose ourselves in our other significant person...it is an endless and neverending process if all involved are honest and always open.
In conclusion, Jessica....we all want trust, hope and love....with those things we can be the people we want to be...and most of all, we can be the best partner a man or woman could ever want....as long as we never break any of those simple building blocks our relationships will only grow and get stronger regardless of how much money, social position or any other intrinsic influence may present itself....matters of the heart are completely independent of those things which are material. There are things in this life which go beyond the material gratification of 'looks' or social norms....people whom follow their hearts can find real happiness if they don't let all the other 'trash' ruin their perspectives...I've felt love and it is possible with the right person to return their love.

For me i like a woman with a great smile and sense of humor. Some men get too caught up in just the physical aspect of a women without seeing what the woman is all about. Looks are important but having a great time all the time means much more.
